How to remove exchange account from Windows Mobile 6
Posted On Jul 28, 2008 at 7:35 pm
If you find yourself needing to remove an exchange account from your windows mobile 6 device, you will most likely notice that the option of doing this is probably not in the first place you expected. No worries, though. It is a very simple process as follows:
- Go to Start -> Programs -> Active Sync
- Click Menu - > Options
- Choose Microsoft Exchange*
- Click on Menu-> Delete*
*If your using a touch screen device, you need to tap and hold on the exchange account for a second and the context menu will appear with the option to delete.
Keep in mind that this action will likely delete all your contacts, messages, tasks, etc. I would recommend doing a backup of your items beforehand. I have used and suggest using the free program PIM Backup to backup your items before deleting the exchange account.

Yes, this was useful, but good point to observe about it (stupidly) deleting your info when you kill the exchange server. The contact list was on my phone ALREADY before I ever had exchange, why should it kill it? Thankfully I just had to reset up the exchange and redownload my contacts. Hopefully I'll be able to actually use the MyPhone service properly now after killing exchange.
