God Delusion lecture by Richard Dawkins at UC Berkeley
Posted On Sep 26, 2008 at 2:30 am
On Saturday, March 8th, 2008, Richard Dawkins gave this lecture on The God Delusion during his US Tour. The event took place on the UC Berkeley campus in Wheeler Auditorium, and was completely sold out. A line of hopeful attendees stretched around the side of the building, waiting to see if there would be any 'no-show' tickets at the last minute!

So if I understand this brilliant gentleman, if we have insufficient information to follow God's beginnings, He must not exist. Is that right?

The idea that watches are simply "designed" is also fallacious. The modern watch has evolved over many centuries. It did not simply spring full blown in its current state. It is itself the product of selection.
Whoops.

So nobody designed the earliest form of mechanical clock either?
Scott Klarr Apr 25, 2009
The watchmaker argument was first proposed over 200 years ago and has been thoroughly debunked over and over and over and over again. Stop using outdated worthless arguments that only put your ignorance on display to the world.

Gabe, you are a dipshit. There is ZERO evidence of a god creating anything. The "brilliant gentleman" who is educated beyond your wildest imagination, says that dealing in absolute statements is logically fallable in this discussion. No one can say "There is/isn't a God, and I can prove it." We can, however, say that "There is a lot of evidence to support the idea of evolution, and no evidence to support the idea of creation. Therefore, while I can't PROVE that creation didn't happen, basic common sense shows me that it isn't very likely." Therefore, you suck at life. Go take some classes at your local community college or something before you attempt to argue with someone who is far more educated than you. If you already have a college degree, light it on fire because it was a waste of time, you're still an idiot.

And to argue that watches evolved rather than were created is just... wow. Again, please cleanse the earth of your presence via self inflicted death.
