The epitome of failure - Are Mccain and Palin trying to lose?

In the beginning of the presidential campaigning, I had no interest in getting involved or paying attention because I never cared much for the political games that politicians play in pursuit of office. It wasn't until just recently, shortly before the pick of Palin, that I started unintentionally noticing how the republicans were being total asshats. Then Mccain picked Palin. Theres no way I could not pay attention after that move.

It seems that every single day theres something new regarding the GOP ticket that leaves me in complete disbelief. Mccain is supposedly the one with so much more experience, yet he acts so immature and illogically that his mental reasoning could easily be compared to that of a jr high bully. He is not very intelligent, and despite his excessive physical blinking, he "does not blink" when it comes to making decisions - which he has been proving time and time again is NOT a good quality he has, and surely is not a quality we want in a president.

Mccain cant remember what he has previously said and is constantly flopping on his "fundamental beliefs." He is ever-increasingly basing his whole campaign not on the issues our country is facing, or not even what HE will do to make it better, but rather grabbing at strawman arguments and trying to make people afraid of Obama by using standard terroristic propaganda methods of twisting facts, quote mining, and straight up lying. When he doesn't get his way or if he gets pressured, he reacts like like a child and tries to sidestep the issue by attacking his opponent. He has already proven beyond any measure of doubt that he cannot handle himself under pressure.

Palin on the other hand is completely and utterly INTELLECTUALLY unexperienced for office. The years she spent in office in Alaska apparently have done nothing to increase her mental ability or her knowledge of key issues that every aspiring president/V.P. should know by heart. She hides from the press and in the very few instances where she does an interview, her answers have as much intellectual substance as those presented by "Miss Teen South Carolina." Palin is a puppet, or a better analogy I've heard is that she is a parrot. She memorizes answers and speeches written by someone else and even if she is able to speak the words well, she has no idea or even faintest of understanding what she is saying. She is not a leader. She is not a critical thinker. She would be dangerous as president if Mccain, a 73 year old who has had cancer multiple times, happens to die during presidency.

Just to name a few reasons why she is a joke in this election...

They have been rilling up their cult-like following into what sounds much like a lynch mob with many of the religious nutcases actually wanting to cause harm to other people - all the while, mccain and palin both stand up there and smile at the hatred like Hitler. The very same behavior that Mccain and Palin have been displaying would no doubt be enough to get you fired from any normal job in this country - yet nearly half of America is embracing these disgraceful people to potentially hold the highest offices of power in our nation.

The list of scandals and "what-the-fucks" is getting so large its hard to load up any page of digg or reddit without seeing something new and abhorrent about the republicans.

Now they are, in a last-ditch attempt, trying to divide America and portray that unless your from a small town or if you do not agree with their views, then you are not "real" Americans. They're using fear as a political trick (by definition, terrorism). They are without a doubt running one of the most disgusting campaigns ever.

I do not agree with republicans on many of their beliefs, but completely putting differences of opinion aside, I do not feel that either Mccain nor Palin have what it takes to properly represent and run this country. I am utterly disgusted that they have not been disqualified from running for bad ethical behavior. There had to have been better choices for the republican nomination; It makes me wonder if the republicans are WANTING to lose so they don't have to deal with the crisis were in? Either they are really good at acting, or they are really bad at campaigning.

In addition to the candidates themselves, I am very disappointed with the mindset of their (diminishing) group of followers. The fact that Obama is black has really brought the bottom of the barrel scum of our country into light - as Mccain's primary supporters. These people are so ignorantly clueless of reality that some of them simply will vote for mccain because "they cannot imagine a president named Obama". Many of them even play off of Obama's middle name as if that somehow is self evident of his intentions. These people, simply, are stupid fucking idiots. I never imagined I could be so proud (that we may actually have progressed far enough to have a black president) and so ashamed (that racist, bible-thumbing morons still hold a good percentage of our population) of America at the same time.

Here is a comment I saw someone by the screen name of krisd843 make that pretty much sums up the mindset of the people who support mccain mindlessly:

I'm a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight.....

  • If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you're "exotic, different."
  • Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, a quintessential American story.
  • If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.
  • Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you're a maverick.
  • Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.
  • Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well grounded.
  • If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, you don't have any real leadership experience.
  • If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to become the country's second highest ranking executive.
  • If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a real Christian.
  • If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you're a Christian.
  • If you teach teach children about sexual predators, you are irresponsible and eroding the fiber of society.
  • If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant, you're very responsible.
  • If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's values don't represent America 's.
  • If you're husband is nicknamed "First Dude", with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn't register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that hates America and advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.
