So, you think teaching religion to children is a good thing?
Children all over the world are being BRAINWASHED and mentally forced into belief of intolerance, hate and fear. If these videos do not frighten you, I can't comprehend what would.
Jesus Camp
Jesus Camp is a 2006 documentary directed by Rachel Grady and Heidi Ewing about a pentecostal summer camp for children who spend their summers learning and practicing their "prophetic gifts" and being taught that they can "take back America for Christ."
Evangelical Hell Houses
Excerpt from a Dawkins documentary about how Christian groups run "Hell Houses" by using fear tactics to further their intolerance and hate.
Various Muslim Children
A collection of clips of Muslim children being taught and used to spread hate. It also includes some mothers who speak in honor of having their sons becoming martyrs.
Two-Year-Old Muslim
Here is a two year old Muslim child being asked questions about her "faith." If this very same thing was done in America but replace Islam with satanism, I guarantee people would not stand for it.
And another...
Muslim Children Want To Kill Jews
Muslim Schools
Modern Islamic children's textbooks teach racial hatred and superiority.

See, I look at this stuff and I get pissed off! What these people are teaching their kids is not Christianity in the slightest.
"James 1:27
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress"
"Luke 10:27
Love your neighbor as yourself."

I agree with Ghandi when he said something to the effect of: "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ."
Christ, rather he was an actual human or not, or if he was gods son or not, is a character that people should appreciate and draw inspiration from. Many self-enlightened people will end up with humanitarian views that the character of Jesus no doubt had.

Scott, presumably you mean the common illusion that christ was a nice guy? I too once thought he was supposed to have been nice, but then as an atheist I decided to read the bible, its great to quote from it, and found some interesting things. Christianity has often sought to pervert the illusion of christ as it would be self-defeating to admit to passages such as this one (Which christ is supposed to have spoken):
"Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned [to hell]."
(Mark 16:15-16)
Quite how and why telling the birds, bees and trees might help them is beyond me, as they can hardly go to their local minister and ask to be baptised, as is the sentiment that any "Creation" not baptised shall be doomed to eternal damnation. Sounds like a swell guy I'd love to never meet.
The idea that christ was some nice guy is often portrayed but rarely noticed to be wrong.
This passage does at least show a little wisdom, to give christianity its due (Or jew), as well, though I doubt that it is deliberate. In mentioning all creation the passage does at least acknowledge that all life has a right to existance, etc. Something that many today seem to have forgotten as we destroy our environment so freely.

Yeah, I came to the same conclusion about Jesus a little while after I posted that comment in 08'.

BTW, I want people to know that this is not the norm either. Just like not all atheists go around burning down churches and murder Christians.

I think this sort of behavior is more present than anyone would like to admit but I am happy to know there are still people like you who try to represent what is good.

Oh right! And quite frankly it's rather embarrassing :)
