While not all of the specs have been released, the USB3 connectors have already started making appearances at tech shows. The initial USB3 specs will be under review later this month and the full specifications are planned to be completed and released by July 08'.

USB3 will be completely legacy compatible with USB 1.1 and 2.0 cables & ports by incorporating the new USB3 connectors within the standard usb ports. Current USB2 speed is about 480Mb/s, and the new USB3 promises speeds of up to 4.7Gb/s!
